About Melody

Melody Wu was born in the United States, and spent four years in Shanghai, China. There, she attended four years of school at the Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID). She currently resides in Irvine, California where she attends the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA). Melody Wu has received awards and honors from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, College Board, The Art of Conservation, Celebrating Art, and more. She has had her work exhibited multiple times at the South Coast Plaza, Orange County Fair, and the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts. Her work frequently intertwines realism with surrealism and satire. She uses art to critique flawed political systems, pressing humanitarian crises, and cultural taboos. The primary art medium she employs is oil paint; however, she also engages in techniques like printmaking and mixed media.

 

This fall, she'll be attending Stanford University. She hopes to major in an art, social science, or both.
